I am travelling by bus. What does my pet need to travel with me?
Pets on the bus
Pets on a bus (road transport), are allowed as long as they are:
- small pets
- placed in a secure transport box, with max dimensions of 70X40X50 cm.
- are accompanied by their owner, who is responsible/ liable for any damage or disturbance of other passengers
- in possession of a health booklet - valid pet passport
Pets in border control
In order for a pet to cross borders, travel documents are needed and are under the responsibility of the owner of the pet to uphold for the border checks/crossing.
A valid health booklet and a valid pet passport are required , while you must also be informed by your vet and/or other competent parties, such as police department, embassy of the country of entry, etc, in specific for your pet regarding additional documents or validation of existing documents of your pet needed to cross borders
Given that the hotel of your choice allows pets, in order for the policy of the transporter to be checked alongside the characteristics of your pet, you should - BEFORE making any payment for your reservation - send a modification request from the page of your reservation.
The modification request you should choose is the “Change package type before payment”. In your request please state:
a) the breed/ type of pet
b) its size
c) its age
d) its weight
Your request will be checked and you will receive a reply to it so as to be notified whether or not you may take your pet with you. Replies are given in priority order and within 48 hours. The reply will appear as a new message in the page of your reservation.
IMPORTANT! We stress and underline that for traveling abroad/ crossing borders/ airport checks, travel documents for the pet are required as well! Your vet may provide you with the correct information about your pet in specific, while it is your obligation to have these documents with you for the border check, airport check, ferry check, etc.
