3.3 Participation requests are accepted up until a few days prior to the departure of the trip, depending on the specific package. The traveler can see the time frame for participation requests inside each package.
3.4 Each traveler may participate in the trips organized by our office given that they pre-pay a deposit or fully-pay the due amount for the trip. The amount of payment is set by our office and is different for each package. For the refundable packages, the amount of the deposit is set approximately between 20% - 50% of the total price of the package, while for the non-refundable packages, the full amount of the package is to be paid in advance. The remaining amount of the total price of the trip (in case of a refundable package) is typically paid until 14 days prior the departure (depending on the type of package). Failing that, our office reserves the right to cancel the reservation without refunding the deposit, as it covers the expenses incurred until then.
3.5 In case the reservation was not made by the individual who will travel but through a third party on their behalf, the person who made the reservation undertakes the compliance with all the procedures set by our office with the herein terms of participation. Any information given to the traveler by the third party and is not related to the data of our trip, is under the responsibility of the third party and our office is not responsible for the above-explained misinformation of the traveler. Reservations that are not validated by payment of the corresponding amount do not oblige 18-24 Travel to reserve seats.
4. PRICES - EXTRA COSTS etc
4.1 The value of each trip is mentioned in the detailed description of the package after completing all the search filters on our page, in which the other mandatory charges are mentioned (taxes, airport taxes, fuel surcharges, etc.), alongside the services which the customer is entitled to based on the package they have chosen. Anything that is not explicitly stated that it is provided is not included in the price. If a visa is required for the trip, the cost of issuing it is not included in the cost of the trip and is borne by the traveler. The price of the trips are calculated based on the prices applicable at the time the customer makes the reservation and are informed that they have to make a payment.
4.2 The value of the travel does not include the accommodation tax (Law 4389/2016 as amended by article 120 of Law 4514/2018) which is paid directly to the accommodation facility. This tax is levied on the daily use of the room, suite, apartment or single residence in hotels and rented furnished rooms-apartments and is per person as follows:
1-2 stars 1,50€
3 stars 3,00€
4 stars 7,00€
5 stars 10,00€
For furnished rooms-apartments for rent:
1,50 €
Such charges (residence tax) are in order in other countries, the amount of charge varies depending on the geographical location, the category of accommodation, the number of nights, the age of the visitors, etc.
4.3 For airline packages, prices are renewed electronically, usually every 24 hours,. Therefore, there may be adjustments, for which the traveler who has made a reservation, is informed before making any payment and if they agree, proceed with payment. Otherwise the reservation is canceled with no charge.
4.4 18-24 Travel reserves the right to adjust the price when cost factors and variables change. In particular, the price may change up to 20 days before departure, due to unforeseen increases (such as an increase in fuel, taxes, fees, foreign exchange, etc.) without this being a reason for the traveler to terminate the contract. Only in case of a price increase of more than 8%, for the above reasons, the traveler may either accept the increase or terminate the contract. If the traveler terminates the contract, he may accept another package, provided that it is offered by the organizer, of equal or superior quality.
4.5 If you wish to extend your stay or to change flights or any other service not included in the travel services, the arrangement requires the payment of an additional amount per change / per person as operating cost, in addition to the charge arising from the change itself. Given that the modification is possible, you may proceed with the modification of your reservation from your account.
4.6 18-24 Travel reserves the right, for a certain period of time or for a limited number of slots, to sell in favorable prices and with special cancellation terms. Any disposal of slots at a price lower than the original does not entitle the other travelers to claim such a discount or cancel their participation without cancellation fees.
4.7 Children from 2 until 12 years old may have a discount on a ferry ticket, depending on the shipping company itself as well as on the agreement between the shipping company and 18-24 Travel or between our office and a third party supplier from whom we supply the service. Moreover, in some cases, reduced accommodation costs are provided to children if accommodated in the same room with their parents. None of the above happens in cases where there is a special agreement on the price of the fare or the stay between our company and the supplier, whether they are the final provider or an intermediary. No discount is provided for special chartered flights. As far as student packages are concerned, the shipping companies accept student passes only from Greek Universities (Α.Ε.Ι) or Technological Educational Institutes (T.E.I) and the traveler who has chosen to book a student package is obliged to have their university ID card with them during the trip for potential check-control conducted by each shipping company. If the traveler does not have the university ID with them, 18-24 Travel does not bear any responsibility for any fine imposed on him by the shipping company.
5. OBLIGATIONS - RESPONSIBILITIES - RIGHTS of the ORGANIZER
5.1 18-24 Travel has full responsibility for the proper execution of the package as a whole. However, 18-24 Travel does not possess its own airplanes, ships, hotels, buses, to be held responsible for the proper or not operation. Its role is purely mediating, and its responsibilities are limited to cases of omissions and organizational weakness under its fault. Lastly, 18-24 Travel uses its best efforts to meet the expectations of travelers and has the obligation to coordinate and execute in the best possible way the trips offered to travelers. In this context and in case the traveler faces a problem, 18-24 Travel is obliged to provide appropriate assistance without fault delay a) by providing appropriate information to its travellers on health services, on local authorities and on consular assistance and b) by providing assistance to the traveler to facilitate long-distance communication and to find alternative travel arrangements.
In this case and given that the problem is due to fault, including negligence, of the traveler, the assistance provided will have a reasonable fee. 18-24 Travel is not responsible for emergencies such as cancellations, delays or changes in the routes of the various means of transport (planes, ships, buses, trains, etc.) due to blockade of areas due to strikes, terrorist acts, pandemics, etc.
5.2 When a large percentage of the travel services cannot be provided as agreed in the organized travel contract, 18-24 Travel offers, without additional charge to the traveler, appropriate alternative arrangements, where possible of equal or superior quality to the services of the contract, to conclude the package, including the event that the traveler is not returned to the place of departure as agreed. When the proposed alternative arrangements form a package of lower quality than the one specified in the organized travel contract, then 18-24 Travel offers the traveler a suitable price reduction. The traveler may reject the proposed alternative arrangements only if the latter can not be compared to what was agreed in the organized travel contract or if the proposed price reduction is insufficient.
5.3 18-24 Travel is to be held responsible only in the event of non-performance or incomplete performance of travel services due to its fault as the Organizer, and not due to the responsibility or actions of the airline or shipping company or the accommodation or third parties providing services to create the package. In this case, (where the sole responsibility lies with the organizer) the traveler is entitled to a reduction of the price and / or compensation for damage caused.
The traveler is not entitled to compensation or refund, if the non-execution or incomplete execution:
a) is attributed to the traveler,
b) is attributed to a third party foreign to the provision of travel services included in the contract of organized travel and have an inevitable and irresistible character, or
c) is attributed to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances.
To the extent that international agreements binding the Union limit the extent of compensation or the conditions under which compensation is paid by a provider performing a travel service included in a package, the same restrictions apply to 18-24 Travel as Organizer. To the extent that international agreements that do not bind the Union limit the compensation paid by a service provider, the compensation to be paid on 18-24 Travel is limited accordingly.
In other cases, an organized travel contract may limit the compensation to be paid by 18-24 Travel, provided that such restriction does not apply to bodily injury or damage caused intentionally or due to neglect.
5.4 18-24 Travel reserves the right to cancel any trip for security reasons or for reasons that it deems appropriate as well as due to unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances. In this case, 18-24 Travel undertakes to inform the traveler in time and the traveler has the following alternatives: a) to choose another package, with the provision that any price difference occurred by the higher price of the chosen package will be borne by the traveler, or b) to be fully reimbursed for the money paid, without any other obligation of compensation by 18-24 Travel.
5.5 In the event of injuries or damages caused by war, coups, terrorist acts, aircraft hijackings, earthquakes, weather conditions, fires, epidemics, 18-24 Travel is not responsible for repairing any damage caused by the above reasons. 18-24 Travel will provide to its best effort undivided support, assistance and care without the obligation to cover the relevant emergency expenses, which will have to be covered by the travelers themselves.
5.6 Prior to departure, 18-24 Travel reserves the right to modify the itinerary of the trip in respect of its non-essential points when deemed necessary, without reasoning the termination of the contract by the traveler. This might occur or be done to better implement the itinerary for the convenience of the traveler. In such a case, 18-24 Travel must inform the traveler about the change in a clear, understandable and distinct way, communicated in writing or electronically.
5.7 If prior to the beginning of the package, 18-24 Travel is obliged to modify the main features of the travel services as agreed (due to cancellation or change of flights or itineraries, or prohibition of departure or for any other reason not exclusively under its decision) or is failing to meet any special requirements of the traveler for which 18-24 Travel was not informed by the traveler timely and in writing, the traveler is obliged within a reasonable period of 3 days from the relevant information from 18-24 Travel to accept a change, or cancel their participation (provided that this option is given by the type of package the traveler has chosen)In case that the option of cancellation is acceptable by the agreement between the two parts, 18-24 Travel will refund the amount in advance paid.If the traveler does not inform 18-24 Travel of their decision within the above deadline, the modification/ amendment will be deemed accepted. If the traveler terminates the contract of organized travel, then the traveler may accept another package offered by 18-24 Travel, if possible of equivalent or superior quality, with the provision that any price difference occurred by the higher price of the chosen package will be borne by the traveler.
Before as well as during the trip, 18-24 Travel has the right to make substantial changes if there is an occuring emergency or force majeure (weather conditions, declaration or threat of war, revolutions, political upheavals, strikes, diseases, accidents , extremist actions, technical obstructions of air traffic, prohibitions on the departure of ships, any damage, roadblocks).
In these cases, all emergency expenses, except for repatriation, are borne by the travelers. In case the trip is interrupted for the above reasons, there is no refund and there is no other obligation for compensation from our office.
5.8 There may be complaints, omissions or problems during the trip. 18-24 Travel shall provide assistance if the traveler has problems during the trip. The traveler has the obligation to inform 18-24 Travel, without fault of delay, by e-mail, in order to solve the problem as soon as possible, in the best way. Failure to notify and formulate complaints in retrospect is a practice that is not permitted by law. Any complaints that were not solved during the trip must be communicated in writing to the office within 7 days from the date of return of the trip. Submission of complaints and opinions beyond the aforementioned time limit is not acceptable.
6. OBLIGATIONS - RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRAVELERS
6.1 Participation in an organized trip implies appropriate social behavior and mutual understanding towards fellow travelers and organizers (escorts). That is why it is necessary for travelers to fully comply with the itinerary, the instructions of the escorts and guides.
6.2 The traveler is also responsible for the timely attendance at the gathering places/ points for the provided services of the itinerary. In case of delay and inconsistency of the traveler leading to the loss of any service, the traveller is not entitled to a refund for the service he lost. In such cases, in order to keep up and meet with the group, the traveler must do so at his own risk and expense. Due to lack of consistency combined with any other problems created by the traveler, 18-24 Travel reserves the right to cancel the traveler's participation even during the trip, when necessary.
6.3 Every traveler is responsible for their timely arrival at the departure place/ point of the trip. If failed to, 18-24 Travel bears no responsibility, there is no refund, nor any modifications possible. Travelers from other areas/ cities/ towns of the departure point have the responsibility to arrive in due time and certainly earlier at the departure point of the trip. The loss of the means of transport due to delay or strike of means of transport, means the loss of the whole trip. No refund is provided in case the traveler is unable to meet with the group. A traveler who interrupts/ cuts short the trip on their own initiative, are solely responsible for covering their return expenses and are not entitled to any service or compensation from 18-24 Travel.
6.4 The traveler is responsible for providing accurate personal information during the booking process. In case of incorrect personal data entry, which may result in the traveler not traveling or being charged extra by the airline for any change / correction in their personal information, the organizer bears no responsibility.
7. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND HEALTH SERVICE CERTIFICATIONS
7.1 Everyone travelling abroad is required to have a valid passport. The traveler must obtain the necessary information through the Greek or foreign authorities for the issuance of the necessary visas and travel documents.
7.2 18-24 Travel may provide general information on travel documents required, but under no circumstance is the company responsible for issuing or obtaining them. The estimated period for document validation is at least 15 days before departure. 18-24 Travel bears no responsibility in case of delay or inability to issue the necessary documents. In any case, the traveler, when travelling domestically or abroad, is responsible for knowing the necessary travel documents (identity card, passport, visa, etc.) of their country of citizenship and that are required for crossing borders or airport checks, during the trip. The traveler is also responsible for having the necessary documents in their possession during border crossings and to be able to indicate them to the police or customs control. In addition, the traveler is to cover the costs of issuing and renewing the necessary travel documents.
7.3 If, due to fault of the traveler (lack or loss of identity or passport, non-issuance of a visa) it is not possible for them to cross the border or pass the airport checks, they waive the right to continue the trip. In this case, 18-24 Travel bears no responsibility, no refunds are made and there is no obligation for compensation from 18-24 Travel, as the incident is due to fault of the traveler.
8. CANCELLATIONS - COMPLAINTS
8.1 The traveler may terminate the contract before the start of the package with the following distinctions of charges:
8.1.1 For the "Non refundable" offers and "Non-refundable price", as clearly stated in the term, the charge is the full amount and there is no refund for ANY reason. Moreover, these packages and offers cannot be modified or amended (for example, in regards to dates, hotel or participants) after the payment is completed. Therefore, upon completion of the reservation, the above special condition is thought as fully accepted by the traveler.
8.1.2 For offers that do not mention the above term ("Non-refundable price"), the amount of the cancelation charge depends on the time frame of the cancelation; specifically:
a) Cancellation of participation up to 21 days before departure (if any amount has been paid by the traveler): the charge is the amount of 15€ per person. This amount corresponds to the management costs for the time spent on each reservation.
b) Cancellation of participation from 20 to 15 days before departure: the charge is the amount of the deposit paid by the customer, which corresponds to the cost of the company for the reservation.
c) Cancellation of participation from 14 days until the day of departure implies the charge of the entire value of the trip. 18-24 Travel has the right, in case the account of the cancellers is not paid until the departure of the trip, to claim the money by any legal means.
8.2 In some offers/ packages there are "special terms" of other Companies (such as airline companies and accommodation providers) regarding the Cancellation Policy that they follow and exceed the above cancellation policy of 18-24 Travel.
8.3 Changes by airlines companies or in flights, or change in accommodation at same or superior category, as well as any non-essential change in the itinerary that does not significantly change the character of the trip, as well as incidents such as medical procedures/ surgeries and accidents that took place before the start of the package, do not offer cancellation grounds.
8.4 In case the traveler has chosen an offer/ package that is not indicated as “Non-Refundable price”, they have the right to terminate the contract without any charge and to be refunded the amount paid, in the following cases:
- In the cases of paragraph 5.7. of Article 5 and the conditions set forth therein.
- In case of unavoidable and exceptional circumstances (eg serious security problems) at the destination, which affect the execution of the package. For the assessment of the existence or non-existence of exceptional circumstances, official travel instructions or official prohibitions of local state authorities or authorities of the destination country will be taken into account. Refusal of the traveler to make the trip while there is no relevant prohibition for safety or health reasons of transport or return and the transportation routes are carried out normally, is the traveler’s own responsibility and fault.
9. TERMS OF USE OF THE TRAVEL SAVINGS SERVICE
9.1 Once you fill the amount and the installments (payments), that you wish to gather this amount, and once you confirm and you create the Travel Savings, you move along with the process of confirmation via viva wallet and the savings schedule is set to motion.
9.2 You may stop the savings schedule at any time (e.g. after the first two installments and while there are another four remaining), via your profile in our page.
9.3 You may also create a travel saving for someone else (e.g. your children or your parents) and make it a gift to them.
9.4 To be noted that the amount you have saved using the savings schedule, may be used exclusively for reservations made via the site of 18-24 Travel (it can not be used for any service not offered via the site of 18-24 Travel)
9.5 We underline that under NO circumstance is the refund or return to a bank account possible for the amount saved using the travel savings. Regardless of an earlier termination of the schedule of the completion of it, any amount saved already can not be refunded or returned to a bank account. The amount will remain in 18-24 Travel Wallet and may be used at any time to pay for services via the page of 18-24 Travel.
10. COVID-19: ADDITIONAL RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRAVELERS
10.1 The traveler is personally responsible, due to the emergency circumstances, to comply with all health measures imposed by the government of the country of arrival, as well as to preserve their health for their safe return home.
10.2 In case of traveling with a 72-hour PCR test or a 48-hour Rapid antigen test, both the responsibility and the cost for the test required for the return route, are exclusively of the traveler and the traveler must individually arrange the testing validly and in time as well as obtain the result validly and in time for the return route and the crossing of borders.
10.3 If the 72-hour PCR test or the 48-hour Rapid antigen test required for the return route is positive and the traveler is denied boarding/ crossing borders, the ORGANIZER bears no responsibility for the loss of the return route itineraries. Additionally, the extension of accommodation and all relative costs during the relative required quarantine period, as well as the cost for the return back home, are borne exclusively by the traveler.
10.4 Ιn case prior to traveling the traveler contracts Covid-19 and is unable to travel, the ORGANIZER bears no responsibility for the non-performance of the travel services and has no obligation to modify or replace the travel package. In such a case, the cancellation policy of the travel package is applied.
10.5 In the exceptional case of a full lockdown, for any action to be taken by the ORGANIZER (refund or voucher, etc) there has to be an official announcement and any general measure to be published in the relative competent manner (for Greece, to be published at 'FEK' - Government Gazette). Note: every travel package has a specific cancellation policy which the traveler accepts during the reservation process; in order for an exemption from this policy, any emergency circumstances' special conditions must be including of all civilians and be official measures imposed by the Government.
10.6 Lockdown: In order for a Full Lockdown to be classified as such, special conditions of emergency circumstances must exist, that ban travelling for every individual and not for specific individuals due to personal reasons.
To be exact, in order for a Full Lockdown to be classified as such, the following must be valid:
- Flights to and from a specific country to be suspended, under official government decision (and not under a simple Joint Ministerial Decision / "KYA" in Greek)
- Accommodation facilities to be closed and to not be accepting individuals, under government decision (and not under a simple Joint Ministerial Decision / "KYA" in Greek). Closing of accommodation facilities for commercial reasons or due to an increase in cases, due to the facility's own decision under no circumstance is considered a full lockdown.
- Borders to be closed under government decision (and not under a simple Joint Ministerial Decision/ "KYA" in Greek) for the protection of public health
To be generally noted that given borders remain open, countries accept individuals and flights are conducted, under no circumstance may this be considered a full lockdown; the non execution of the travel for reasons related to specific individuals and not applied to every individual can not under no circumstance be classified as an emergency circumstance.
11. ASSIGNMENT
The traveler may assign their package to another person who meets the conditions and unconditionally accepts these terms. The assignment is to be made no later than seven (7) days before the start of the package, while for packages involving maritime transport, the time frame for the assignment is up to 14 working days before the start of the package. In cases of remaining amount due or of extra costs/ additional expenses, the assignor and the assignee are conjointly and in full liable for the payment of the remaining balance, as well as for any additional charges, fees or other extra costs arising from the assignment. In the case of air transport, a new reservation and an additional payment for the slot must be made. 18-24 Travel shall to its best effort try to find a new slot, but is not responsible if failed to. If unsuccessful, the mandatory cancellation will be made in accordance with the cancellation terms herein.
12. ACCOMMODATION - HOTELS
12.1 The categorization of accommodation properties is based on the current legislation of each state and is different for each country. There is not a unified international single categorization of hotels and accommodation properties. The choice of hotels is based on their location and the services they offer, combined with the best possible price, depending on their category.
12.2 In offers / packages that the name of the accommodation property is not mentioned but rather some general characteristics (such as category, location, etc.), 18-24 Travel has the sole obligation to serve the traveler in an accommodation property that meets the specific characteristics stated. In such a case, the traveler may not claim that they are accommodated in another property given that the property offered by 18-24 Travel includes the general characteristics specified in the offer/ package. In all other cases where the accommodation property in the package is specifically mentioned to the customer before the conclusion of the contract, the traveler upon completion of the reservation shall be deemed to consent to the selection of the specific accommodation property offered by the contract and shall not be entitled to claim a different accommodation than agreed.
12.3 Rooms are provided by the hotel - accommodation property for check in usually after 14:00 (commonly in most cases between 13:00 and 15:00), while the traveler must check out no later than 12:00 on the date of departure. Accommodation in a triple room always refers to a double room with the addition of an extra bed. Moreover, accommodation in a quadruple room always refers to double room with the addition of two extra beds.
12.4 Regarding the room selection, the traveler may choose the type of room to be accommodated, if and when available. In case of further preferences such as, for example, a room with a double bed, it is possible to state - choose it during the reservation procedure, but in no case is this choice binding in regards to the office. It is merely a statement of preference, which can only be satisfied if there is availability. In case of a single room, there is extra charge depending on the accommodation property.
12.5 On individual trips, in case the traveler delays in arrival after the scheduled time and does not inform the hotel - accommodation property and the 18-24 Travel, the hotel - accommodation property reserves the right to cancel the reservation and make the room available if requested.
13. SPECIAL OFFERS
In case of special offers (price discount, offer of a specific extra service), the reservation may directly require the payment of the service and different cancellation terms may apply, meaning the reservation might not be able to be canceled or changed and, in case of cancellation, regardless of the time frame of cancellation, the entire amount might be charged.
14. ADDITIONAL AMENITIES - EXTRA SERVICES
14.1 Additional amenities - extra services may be provided in the packages. Those may include additional accommodation or transportation features, such as the board type (e.g. addition of half board) and the number of luggage items on an airline / ferry ticket, or additional services such as excursions and transportation to the city of destination. Each additional service has a detailed description of what it includes, as well as the due date for its payment, which is binding. Disclaimer: Any additional amenity or extra service is not directly related to the reservation made through 18-24 Travel. Our role is the role of mediator.
14.2 In the event of non-availability of an additional amenity, belonging to the category of additional accommodation features, 18-24 Travel in good faith shall inform the traveler for the amenity’s unavailability, without that imply the possibility of canceling the reservation by the traveler. In the event of non-availability or actualization of any additional service or amenity, belongs to the category of services, as mentioned above, 18-24 Travel is not responsible.
15. AIR TICKETS
15.1 When booking a travel package that includes an airplane ticket, there is an chance of an increase to the total price of the package during the period between the placement of the reservation by the traveler and the day of confirmation of the reservation by depositing the payment. This may occur due to an increase of the price of the air ticket during the time between the reservation and its confirmation by payment. In this case, 18-24 Travel informs the traveler in time about the increase and the traveler must pay the extra amount immediately.
15.2 In the case of organized or individual packages including low cost airline tickets, the booking directly requires the payment of the service and different cancellation terms apply, meaning that the booking can not be cancelled or modified, and in case of cancellation, regardless of the time frame of cancellation, the entire amount is to be charged.
15.3 In case of packages with airline tickets, the traveler shall receive the ticket electronically (either in printable form, or simply as a code they need to know when departing). The Check in process (for airline packages) takes place 1-2 days prior to each flight (depending on the airline). Therefore, the traveler receives the boarding pass in 2 parts. Firstly, the traveler receives the boarding pass for the outbound flight and, during the trip, receives the boarding pass for the return flight. During the check in process, the distribution of seats is randomly done by the airline. This means that there will probably be no adjacent seats. If you wish to have adjacent seats or if you have a specific preference regarding your seat on the plane, as well as if you want to receive the boarding pass earlier than scheduled, you may send an early check-in modification request. To choose specific seats (‘early check in’ process), includes a fee from the airline; the cost of the fee will be communicated in writing as a reply to your modification request.
ATTENTION! You must print out the boarding passes and not have them e.g. on your mobile.
